Programs and Ministries For The Blind
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24,25
Fellowship meetings, prayer meetings, special celebration and outings are organized with the aim of evangelizing unbelievers and edifying believers.
We are gathering the blind people for extended time to do this as a corporate body. With effect from 7th January 2014, we have set aside extended time for the blind people to get together to “delight themselves” in the Presence of the Lord, and we are also learning to feast on the abundance of the house of the Lord and to drink from His river of delights Psalm 36:8.
Worship music/songs will be played while the group seek the Lord in their own ways. At the end of each session, the group is allowed to share what they had received/experienced. Some of them found that it was much easier to focus, concentrate and to draw near to the Lord during the GMB Delight sessions.
GMB Delight sessions are held after lunch on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
We make visits to the blind, especially to those who are newly blinded, to share the love of Christ with them and to provide encouragement and practical assistance.
Bible study classes, discipleship training and seminars are organized to help believers towards Christian maturity and leadership.
A Braille Bible is about 4 feet thick. As such, emphasis is placed on audio media. An audio library has been set up to provide blind borrowers with Christian literature, devotional and Bible study materials, sermons and gospel messages in English, Mandarin and various dialects.
Braille Classes are conducted at our Centre to improve the literacy of the blind. Short-term training camps are organized to provide opportunities for blind people to acquire skills for independent living. We also offer assistance in orientation and mobility so that the blind people can travel by public transport and walk safely with the help of a white cane.
We hold celebration & meetings for special occasion, Such as Chinese New Year and Christmas Celebration.
If you or your church wish to sponsor such events, please contact Mrs Cheong at 67414490 to discuss.
